Visit to SAF Members in Ground Safety Zone

The Minister of Defence, Bratislav Gašić, and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, visited today the Serbian Armed Forces members at Ornica Base tasked with guarding the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija and overseeing the Ground Safety Zone.
During the tour, they inquired at the organization of life and work and the conditions for accommodation at the base and spoke with engaged members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The Head of the Infrastructure Department, Lieutenant Colonel Miloš Peruničić, informed the Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff about the extent of the work carried out at the base, while its commander reported on task accomplishment.
Minister Gašić expressed his satisfaction that the condition of the infrastructure facilities at Ornica Base has been significantly improved and that all measures have been taken to improve the living and working conditions of the Serbian Armed Forces members. According to him, one of the priorities in the defence system is precisely the improvement of infrastructure, as evidenced by several significant facilities that have been completed in the previous period, as well as a large number of infrastructure projects that will be carried out.
— I am very pleased and proud to see that the life of our members, who are far from their families, and the conditions for their work, which is challenging, responsible and demanding, have improved in every way. Thus, we show that we take great care of each of our members, who protect peace and security of the Republic of Serbia and its citizens, and that care for them is an imperative in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. We will continue to do this in the future and every member of our Armed Forces should know that we will do everything to improve the conditions for their life and work — said the Minister of Defence.
He thanked the Serbian Armed Forces members for their committed and responsible performance of all tasks assigned to them, whether during day or night, on weekdays or holidays.
— Therefore, the citizens of Serbia have great trust in you and immensely value and respect you, and due to your professionalism, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces are today the institutions that the citizens of Serbia trust the most — emphasized Minister Gašić.
Today’s tour was attended by the 4th Army Brigade Commander, Colonel Siniša Nikolić, the Head of the Office of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Colonel Boris Stojković and the Deputy Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence, Colonel Nikola Matović.
