Along with the engagement in controlling and protecting airspace sovereignty, the most important task in the battalion armed with the FK-3 missile system is training. It was designed to provide highly proficient and trained individuals and combat crews, making maximum use of this system’s combat capabilities.
In accordance with the training program, all contents related to the maintenance and tactics of using the system are practiced, including the installation of missiles, preparation and execution of the march, taking up the combat disposition, procedures for checking the functioning and eliminating possible malfunctions and the work of combat crews according to the standards set for preparing and executing firing.
Implementation of the training leads to the highest skills of the combat crews and coordination of work of all system elements and members, which is of utmost importance for effective engagement of aerial targets.
The air defense missile system FK-3 can engage planes, helicopters, cruise missiles, UAVs and air-to-ground missiles flying at speeds of up to 1,000 m/s, at altitudes of up to 27 km and distances of up to 100 km. By integrating the FK-3 into the air defense system, the abilities to perform the tasks of protection of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia were improved.
