Training of Candidates for Serbian Armed Forces Tank Crews

Civilian candidates undergoing selection for service in the tank units of the Serbian Armed Forces have successfully completed live-fire training in night conditions at the “Orešac” training ground.
These young men and women applied to a recruitment call for tank units this June and are currently undergoing training in operating the M-84 tank and executing live-fire missions.
Live-fire exercises were conducted at the training range, involving engagements from both a stationary position and while on the move against targets at various ranges. This served as an excellent opportunity for tank crews to practice orientation, observation and neutralization of targets at night.
Major Predrag Ružić, Commander of the 26th Tank Battalion, has noted that following these firing activities, the candidates will undergo a proficiency certification—the final step before they become full-fledged members of the professional military unit.
Miloš Marković, a candidate for the position of a professional soldier and a native of Kraljevo, applied for the position of gunner in the 26th Tank Battalion—driven by his love for his homeland and the military profession.
“The training was exciting and dynamic. We trained under various conditions, laid mines, used other types of weaponry, and—most importantly—underwent specialized training with M-84 tanks,” Marković said, among other things.
