International CIMIC Course
Wednesday, 28.10.2026 | Training
The international civil-military cooperation course is currently underway at the “Car Lazar” barracks in Kruševac. The course is attended by participants from the Republic of Serbia and members of foreign armed forces.
In accordance with the programme of the two-week training, organized by the Civil-Military Cooperation Department (J-9) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, participants are being trained to serve in civil-military cooperation units at the tactical level and are expanding their knowledge of the activities of civil organizations in the areas of multinational operations. An important part of the training also involves direct engagement with migrants at the Asylum Centre in Obrenovac.
The practical and theoretical training is conducted by a combined team of instructors from the Serbian Armed Forces and the armed forces of Italy, the United States and the Netherlands, as well as guest lecturers from the Emergency Management Sector of the Ministry of the Interior, the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, and the Red Cross of Serbia.
International training of this kind provides participants with a basis for a better understanding of contemporary challenges in working with civil organizations in a complex operational environment. It also offers an opportunity for officers and non-commissioned officers from different countries to exchange experiences in the field of non-military cooperation.
The Serbian Armed Forces have been organizing international civil-military cooperation courses since 2008. To date, more than 500 participants from the Republic of Serbia and 18 partner countries from the region and world have been trained according to this training model.
