Training in Conducting Special Actions

This week, as part of their routine summer training, the 72nd Special Operations Brigade members have gone through various training contents outside the unit’s peacetime dispositions.

It took several days to perform the activities which involved members of special operations battalions "Griffins" and "Falcons", which form part of this brigade, landing by Air Force and Air Defence helicopters on multiple locations, where they solved unit-specific tactical and fire problems on the unfamiliar ground.

The special forces’ members practiced tactical actions while performing reconnaissance of the unfamiliar and rough terrain, anticipating encounter battle, gathering intelligence, conducting surprise raids, diversions and ambushes, air evacuation, as well as overcoming water obstacles using personal and standard assets.

The multiday training concluded with a tactical live-fire exercise which confirmed the teams’ high-level competence for performing intended SOF tasks.

A large number of complex assignments and diversity of actions performed by the 72nd Special Operations Brigade require a high level of physical fitness, motivation and mental strength from its members. For that reason, this unit conducts intense training on a daily basis so as to preserve and enhance the capabilities for conducting special operations and actions in all conditions.
