Mobile Camp of Signal Brigade Units

The Signal Brigade’s units are doing a mobile camp at locations outside their peacetime disposition, which includes collective training needed to perform specific tasks in the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.
In addition to professional staff, soldiers on voluntary military service of the December 2024 intake are also involved, specializing as radio relay, telephone and radio teleprinter operators, training to work at a radio station, radio relay center and mobile switching system.
The training focuses on setting up mobile telecommunications centers at command posts and establishing and maintaining various types of connections. Soldiers on military service are also practicing setting up cable routes.
Lieutenant Colonel Mladen Šaponja, commander of the camp area in the vicinity of Kovin Airport, where a Signal Brigade’s unit conducts training, has pointed out that the mobile camp is an ideal opportunity to check the functioning of the telecommunications and IT security between the stationary and mobile part of the unit.
— The contents that we cover at the mobile camp are also closely related to modern warfare, so we practice the procedures related to EW protection, as well as camouflage and defense of a mobile telecommunications and information center — said Lt. Col. Shaponja, adding that this unit was special because of a large number of young members who had an ideal opportunity to test modern devices used in such an environment and perfect the knowledge they acquired during their education.
Except for training professional staff and soldiers on military service, implementation of mobile camp in real space and weather conditions improves the skills of the Signal Brigade needed to plan and provide telecommunications and IT security for operations and strategic commands, which plays a crucial part in efficiently commanding the Serbian Armed Forces units.
