The Army brigades’ artillery battalions armed with the self-propelled howitzers 122 mm “Gvozdika” are undergoing intensive training in using this artillery system in combat while providing fire support to the Army maneuver units.

In this phase, the howitzer crews are predominantly practicing tactical actions on the move, gun emplacement, camouflage, timely introduction of an artillery unit into combat, as well as organizing artillery fire, in order to refresh the acquired knowledge and prepare for firing practices, fire for record and live-fire tactical exercises awaiting them in the forthcoming period.

This training process involves not only a basic version of “Gvozdika” but also a modernized one, which has much greater firepower, speed, accuracy of fire and ability to hit the target with several simultaneous missiles after the modern fire control system has been installed.

Execution of this training improves the level of competence of each individual, the teamwork of the crews and speed of reaction, that is, the combat readiness of artillery units for executing assigned tasks on the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.
