Regular annual analysis of operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces in 2013 has been held today at the Military Club in Pancevo. The analysis was attended by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic, General Ljubisa Dikovic, Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, and most responsible officers of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
Regular annual analysis of operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces in 2013 has been held today at the Military Club in Pancevo.
The analysis was attended by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic, General Ljubisa Dikovic, Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, and most responsible officers of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
During the analysis, conditions in which the members of the Serbian Armed Forces carried out their tasks were reviewed.
Particularly, they discussed the implementation of the Guidelines of the President of the Republic of Serbia for building the operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces for the period 2013-2018, then capability to carry out missions, the results achieved in the previous year, as well as other issues affecting the maintenance and development of capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.
It was noted that the equipment of the Serbian Armed Forces should be improved in the forthcoming period.
Upon completion of the analysis today, in the Rastko Nemanjic barracks in Pancevo, the display of part of arms, equipment, and publications of the Serbian Armed Forces and demonstration of the operational capabilities of the Special Brigade were organized.
The highest state and military leadership had opportunity to verify the qualifications of the members of the Special Brigade in several demonstrations of fire and tactical training.
They were shown segments of counterterrorist and counter-raid operations, elements of training in close combat or martial arts, shooting in conditions of limited visibility, the removal and destruction of explosive devices, and parachuting. In addition to this, the static display exposed part of arms and equipment used by that unit of the Serbian Armed Forces. President of the Republic, Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff visited also the Memorial Room of the Special Brigade.
