The anniversary of the death of Second Lieutenant Borko Nikitović was marked today in Požega.
The delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, led by the Deputy Commander of the Guard, Colonel Željko Gavrilović, laid a wreath in the courtyard of the Petar Leković Elementary School in Požega, near the memorial hall dedicated to the late Borko Nikitović, today.
The members of the family of Second Lieutenant Nikitović, representatives of the Military Academy, the Association of the fallen combatants and the Municipality of Požega also laid wreaths.
On this day in 1991, Lieutenant Nikitović died in Vukovar as a member of the Guards Brigade. By the decree of the President of the FR of Yugoslavia, he was posthumously decorated with the Order of Courage.
Lieutenant Nikitović was born in Požega on 9th July 1968. He finished elementary school in Požega as the best student of his municipality. He then enrolled in the Military High School and finished it four years later with GPA 5.00. He graduates from the Military Academy in 1991, as the first in the ranking with GPA 10.00.
