Tuesday, 15.9.2026 | Training
With the withdrawal of units and assets from the “Pešter” temporary training ground, the first part of the joint tactical live-fire exercise “Victor 2026” has been successfully concluded; the exercise is being conducted across multiple training grounds in the Republic of Serbia through the coordinated efforts of Serbian Armed Forces units, including the Army, Air Force and Air Defense, as well as special operations and military police forces.
During two weeks of activities at Pešter, the participating units—acting in accordance with their assigned tasks and intended roles—conducted live firing, tactical exercises, and bombing and missile strikes against ground targets; finally, on September 13, through an exercise involving a reinforced tactical group executing an offensive operation, they demonstrated to the general public their excellent tactical and fire-combat proficiency, as well as a high level of interoperability among the various arms and branches of the Serbian Armed Forces.
More than two thousand members of the Serbian Armed Forces and over 500 key pieces of materiel were deployed in this phase of the exercise. Fire was delivered from modernized tanks and other armored vehicles, combat aircraft and helicopters, air defense missile systems, anti-tank missile systems, artillery pieces, numerous unmanned and robotic platforms, as well as a wide range of modern small arms.
Training activities within the joint tactical exercise are proceeding according to the scenario and planned schedule, and will continue until early October. During this period, combat operations will be practiced at multiple locations, alongside marching and the execution of tactical drills and live-fire exercises.
The aim of the exercise—which, in terms of the diversity of actions and combat assets involved, is one of the most comprehensive exercises conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces to date—is to further enhance the training and proficiency of commands and units in preparing for and executing combat operations, as well as in organizing joint action, cooperation, and force protection.
