Promotions and New Appointments in Serbian Armed Forces

Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, issued decrees on the promotion and appointment of officers of the Serbian Armed Forces to new positions. The decrees were handed over by the Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, in the presence of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, at a ceremony in the Great War Hall of the Old General Staff.

Brigadier Generals Željko Petrović, Srđan Petković and Slađan Stamenković were promoted to the rank of Major General, while Colonel Saša Petrović was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General.

Major General Slađan Stamenković was appointed Deputy Army Commander, Brigadier General Nikola Dejanović – Commander of the Guard, Colonel Siniša Stašević – Commander of the 2nd Army Brigade, while Colonel Dragan Antić was appointed Commander of the 3rd Army Brigade.

Major General Željko Petrović was born on November 15, 1967 in Zrenjanin. He has been in professional military service since 1990. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1990, General Staff School in 2000, General Staff specialization in 2007 and Advanced Security and Defence studies in 2013. He is the Commander of the Training Command.

Major General Srđan Petković was born on February 14, 1968 in Pirot. He has been in professional military service since 1992. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1992, Command and Staff Training in 2009, General Staff Training in 2013 and the Advanced Security and Defence Studies in 2021. He is the Chief of the Logistics Directorate (J-4) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.

Major General Slađan Stamenković was born on August 7, 1968 in Vranje. He has been in professional military service since 1988. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1991, Command and Staff Training in 2002, General Staff Training in 2011 and Advanced Security and Defence Studies in 2020. Until now, he was the commander of the 3rd Army Brigade.

Brigadier General Nikola Dejanović was born on February 21, 1969 in Osijek. He has been in professional military service since 1992. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1992, Command and Staff Training in 2006, General Staff Training in 2010 and Advanced Security and Defence Studies in 2020. Until now, he has been the Deputy Commander of the Training Command.

Brigadier General Saša Petrović was born on September 12, 1969 in Kumanovo. He has been in professional military service since 1988. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1991, Command and Staff Training in 2005 and General Staff Training in 2012. He is the commander of the Central Logistics Base of the Logistics Directorate (J-4) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.

Colonel Siniša Stašević was born on December 17, 1971 in Tutin. He has been in professional military service since 1994. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1994, Command and Staff Training in 2007 and General Staff Training in 2014. Until now, he was the head of the Military Combat Readiness Department of the Operations Directorate (J-3) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.

Colonel Dragan Antić was born on January 18, 1969 in Kosovska Kamenica. He has been in professional military service since 1992. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1992, Command and Staff Training in 2002 and General Staff Training in 2012. Until now, he has been the Deputy Commander of the 3rd Army Brigade.
