The ceremony on the occasion of promotion of the youngest officers of the Armed Forces of Serbia will be held on Saturday, September 13, at the plateau in front of the House of the National Assembly of Serbia, at 17.30. 220 cadets of the 135th Class of the Military Academy will be promoted by the decree of the President of the Republic of Serbia and one cadet that completed his education at the Military Academy in the Republic of Greece.
To the highest ranked, the President will hand over officers’ swords with inscription, while Defence Minister will hand over pistols with the inscription to the most successful cadets of the Army service and the Air Force and Air Defence.
This year’s promotion of second lieutenants will be held in the course of marking the centenary of the beginning of the Great War. This way, visitors will have the opportunity to see exhibition uniforms from the First World War and regiment flags, while actor Lazar Ristovski will perform the speech of General Mihajlo Rasic, former Head of the Military Academy, which he gave in front of his cadets before heading for the war.
As in previous years, the program will be completed with flights of the Aviation of the Armed Forces of Serbia, display of drill of the Guard and musical program performed by Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binicki” and the Representative Guard Orchestra.
