One day before the military parade “March of the Victorious”, at the House of Guards in Topcider, a concert was held for participants of the manifestation, with attendance from members of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia.
For the participants of the parade, which is organized in honor of the centenary of the beginning of the Great War and 70 years since the liberation of the Serbian capital in the Second World War, a concert was held with music that was inseparable from gunfire in the Serbian military in wartime and peacetime. Performances were given by the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence “Stanislav Binicki”, soloists Merima Njegomir, Ceda Markovic, Danka Stojiljkovic, Bozidar Boki Milosevic, Dejan Pesic, Rade Jorovic, young singers Katarina Zivkovic and Aleksandra Prijovic and this year’s winners of Guca the Brass Band of Dejan Jevdjic.
The program was opened with the Stanislav Binicki’s composition “March on the Drina”, dedicated to Colonel Milivoje Stojanovic, Commander of the legendary Iron Regiment who was killed in the Battle of Kolubara. The Ensemble was conducted by maestro Pavle Medakovic and Major Igor Mitrovic.
After the concert, Head of the Serbian General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic presented letters of gratitude to the artists who performed at the House of Guards tonight.
