Friday, 7.3.2025 | Training
The newly admitted soldiers are undergoing training in the MP battalions of the Army to perform military police and general security duties in the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces.
These are professional soldiers from a civilian background admitted to the MP units through a public competition or coming from other Serbian Armed Forces’ units following an internal job advertisement and personal request.
The training aims to gradually introduce them to their basic roles, that is, to help them acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform specific tasks and learn to exercise the MP officials’ authorities in the area of territorial responsibility.
The soldiers are undergoing firearms, tactical and MP training. They are practicing the checkpoint procedures, as well as those applied while patrolling and encountering a suspect, securing areas, facilities and protected persons; they are also executing firing with all types of weapons used by military police units.
Sergeant Aleksandar Todorović, training instructor, 5th MP Battalion, says that the soldiers have shown outstanding motivation and willingness to work in the MP units, adding that the youngest staff is expected to execute tactical drills and live-fire exercises in the coming period to reach full combat readiness.
Military police units are an important part of the Serbian Armed Forces. They are equipped with modern assets and weapons of domestic and foreign production, which, along with constant training, ensures the required ability to implement the assigned tasks and affairs stipulated by law, other regulations and commanders’ orders.
