Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović visited the Army units yesterday and today.
The tour began at the "Toplički ustanak" barracks in Kuršumlija, where he talked with the commanders and commanders of units stationed in this garrison and informed them about the realization of key tasks of the Serbian Armed Forces and plans for the following period.
Members of mechanized battalions with their home location in Kuršumlija conduct training in summer conditions in this period, using infantry fighting vehicles and modern optoelectronic devices that units of the 3rd Army Brigade were equipped with in the previous period, in order to improve their competence and preserve a high level of combat readiness.
During this time, in the wider vicinity of Niš and at several locations in the Republic of Serbia, intensive selective training of candidates for admission to special units according to the Project 5000 continued, with parachute jumps in day and night conditions. The aim is to select highly motivated and psychophysically the most capable candidates for special forces of the Serbian Armed Forces and involve them in the further training process.
The tour of the Units of the Army was completed in Niš, where, in the "Knjaz Mihailo" barracks, a meeting was held with the most responsible officers of the Serbian Armed Forces. The meeting discussed the security situation in the country and the surrounding area and the degree of implementation of the most important current projects, which aim to improve the capabilities of special forces and the development of tactical units, and defined the tasks for further improvement of the situation, operational and functional capabilities.
During his stay in the field, the Chief of General Staff visited the units of the Central Logistics Base in Prokuplje and Smederevska Palanka, and gained insight into the state of storage capacities. On that occasion, he expressed satisfaction with the level of build-up of material reserves of the Serbian Armed Forces and the efforts invested in our largest logistics unit for their safe storage.
