The graduation ceremony for the students of the School for Reserve Officers of the Military and the Military Medical Academy generation "September 2014", was held today at the "General Jovan Miskovic" barracks in Belgrade. After six months of training, 57 of them were promoted by the decree of the President of the Republic to the rank of a reserve Second Lieutenant of the Serbian Armed Forces in quartermaster, technical, medical and telecommunications services.
Commandant of the Military Academy Major General Goran Zekovic presented
the awards for the results achieved to the best three in the rank.
These are Maja Stojadinovic, student of the 102nd class of the
quartermaster service, Brankica Maksimovic and Tijana Radivojevic, while
the Head of the Military Medical Academy by his order awarded as best
in the rank the reserve medical Second Lieutenants Sanja Krunic, Nenad
Antic and Sonja Radovic.
Addressing the gathering, the first ranked one with an average GPA 9.73,
Second Lieutenant Maja Stojadinovic, pointed out that today’s event is
the result of hard work and efforts and that the class is honoured that
they can now call themselves the officers of the Serbian Armed Forces.
– We have learned many new things which we have not encountered before
and we are proud because we perform all the tasks in the best way. In
this line there are also the girls who have shown that they could cope
with all the challenges and it was for the first time that they have
become the best-in-class among the students of the course for reserve
officers – the best in the rank said, thanking to the commanding
officers and professors at the Military Academy for the great help and
support during the six months of schooling.
Commandant
of the Military Academy Major General Goran Zekovic, congratulating the
new reserve Second Lieutenants, stressed the importance of education
for reserve officers for the defence system, especially for the Serbian
Armed Forces, in terms of successful manning and preparation for the
defence of the country.
– Constant inflow of new generations of trained reserve officers is a
reliable mainstay of the defence. Young people who acquire higher
education are traditionally applying in large numbers for reserve
officers’ education, thus becoming a link that best connects the youth
of our country with the Armed Forces – General Zekovic said, adding that
the Republic of Serbia is getting today another dedicated, high-quality
and to a certain degree, more educated generation of young people who
will be engaged in tasks of national defence.
