shortages.
Due to rapid melting of snow and heavy rainfalls, there was an overflow of the reservoir “Prvonek” at Vranjska Banja, which has caused problems in the operation of water plant and water caused a disruption in water supply for the citizens of Vranje and the surrounding places. The members of the Fourth Army Brigade, commanded by Brigadier General Milosav Simovic, were the first ones who gave aid to the citizens of Vranje, engaging three tanks for drinking water supply.
Ground water and torrent streams caused also spills of large amounts of water in many settlements of Leskovac. On the invitation of the Crisis Staff, officers and soldiers of the Seventh Training Centre in Leskovac immediately responded. According to the Commander Colonel Mijodrag Djurovic, they were engaged for two days assisting the most vulnerable citizens in drinking water supply. Great contribution is given by the soldiers who operate the pump “Rosenborg” who have been pumping out the water in Bobište settlement. They manage to remove 800 gallons of water per minute.
The assistance will be continued until the water in Vranje and Leskovac is normal.
