Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff visiting Hungary

The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, is on an official visit to Hungary with a delegation, at the invitation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, Colonel General Gábor Böröndi.
The official part of the visit began today with a ceremonial welcome of our delegation and a wreath-laying ceremony at Heroes’ Square in Budapest, which was followed by a meeting between Generals Mojsilović and Böröndi, as well as the official talks by the delegations of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Hungarian Defence Forces.
The plenary meetings included the discussion on the current security situation in the region and the world, military-to-military cooperation so far and possibilities for its further improvement.
The importance of Hungarian participation within KFOR and their professional commitment to the preservation of peace and security of the population in Kosovo and Metohija and the protection of Serbian cultural, historical and religious heritage was particularly emphasized.
It has been concluded that the cooperation between the two armies is intensive and substantial, that it is characterized by constant qualitative enhancement, and that it greatly improves interoperability and combat readiness. An agreement was reached to intensify joint activities in the field of training in the coming period.
Assessing the visit as successful, General Mojsilović has pointed out that the achieved level of military-to-military cooperation follows the exceptional relations between our countries at political level and emphasized that the Republic of Serbia is committed to the further development of the overall bilateral relations with Hungary.
