President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, has attended the final activities of the first part of the joint live-fire tactical exercise, “Victor 2026,” at the temporary training ground “Pešter” today, together with Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović.
At this location, exercise activities were conducted jointly by units of the Serbian Armed Forces’ Army, Air Force and Air Defense, special forces, and military police.
The goal of the “Victor 2026” exercise was to enhance further the skills and operational readiness of commands and units for the preparation and execution of combat operations, as well as for organizing joint action, cooperation, and force protection; newly introduced and modernized weaponry and military equipment are utilized in the execution of tactical and fire missions.
Upon the conclusion of the exercise activities, the President of the Republic expressed satisfaction with the results achieved and extended congratulations to the officers, NCOs, and soldiers who participated in the exercise.
“I am very proud of the officers, NCOs, and soldiers who have carried out this exercise today. It was extremely complex, conducted under challenging weather conditions with strong winds—this applies to the paratroopers, the sorties of our aircraft and helicopters, and the strikes on targets that were not easy to hit. I am proud of their effort and their hard, strenuous work,” said President Vučić.
The President also highlighted new features showcased for the first time during the exercise, primarily the use of robotic and unmanned systems, including robot dogs and various types of drones.
“Today, for the first time, you were able to witness an assault by robotic, unmanned, and remotely piloted systems—essentially, what an attack on an entire settlement looks like without a single human involved. In addition to the “Little Miloš”, you saw robot dogs—which were difficult to stabilize for such precise fire, yet on which we managed to mount a revolver-style grenade launcher, “Zolja” rocket launchers, and a 7.62mm machine gun. We also deployed eight different types of drones; while soldiers had to shoot some of them down as part of the exercise, this too demonstrated the extent and speed of our progress,” the President of the Republic pointed out.
The Supreme Commander emphasized that the enhancement of the Serbian Armed Forces’ capabilities is being carried out with the aim of preserving the peace and stability of the Republic of Serbia.
“It is clear to everyone that we never wish to pose a threat; we want peace and stability, and we want to safeguard and protect both our skies and our land ourselves,” said President Vučić. He thanked General Mojsilović for the cooperation to date and the progress achieved by the Serbian Armed Forces, rating today’s exercise—as well as the overall effort and hard work of all Serbian Armed Forces officers, NCOs, and soldiers—as “very good.”
Expressing satisfaction with the results of the exercise, the Chief of the General Staff has highlighted that they serve as a confirmation of years of investment in the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the support provided at the highest state level aimed at building the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.
“What was demonstrated today—beyond the introduction of new materiel—was a clear display of capability. The Republic of Serbia can take pride in the development of the operational capabilities the Serbian Armed Forces, the force that stands as a definitive guarantor of security and peace, not only within Serbia but also across the Balkans,” said General Mojsilović, commending all the units that took part in the exercise.
The “Victor 2026” joint exercise is ongoing. Activities conducted so far have confirmed the high level of skills, readiness, and professionalism of Serbian Armed Forces personnel, as well as their ability to effectively employ new and modernized assets and systems. At the same time, a high degree of coordination and interoperability has been demonstrated in responding to contemporary challenges, risks, and threats to the security of the Republic of Serbia.
