Defence Minister and Head of the General Staff visiting the Minicipality of Krupanj

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic and Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic visited today the small village of Krzava in the Municipality of Krupanj, and endangered parts of this municipality where members of the Third Brigade are performing engineering works. After the tour, Defence Minister and Head of the General Staff met with presidents of the Municipalities of Krupanj, Bajina Basta, Macvanski Prnjavor and Mali Zvornik.
Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic and Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic visited today the small village of Krzava in the Municipality of Krupanj, and endangered parts of this municipality where members of the Third Brigade are performing engineering works.
After the tour, Defence Minister and Head of the General Staff met with presidents of the Municipalities of Krupanj, Bajina Basta, Macvanski Prnjavor and Mali Zvornik.
During the meeting with the representatives of the said municipalities, current state and ways of flood and landslide relief were discussed.
According to Minister Gasic, today, they discussed the ways the Armed Forces of Serbia could help more in damage reparation.
– There is a great number of mechanization and vehicles of the Armed Forces of Serbia on the field, and you can also see a part of our units that are here for the second month, together with the local government, trying to resolve all the issues and clear the roads so that the citizens of this area could lead a normal life here and go back to their regular activities – Minister Gasic pointed out, adding that it has been arranged with the presidents of the municipalities for another pontoon bridge to be built in Krupanj, while Bajina Basta and Mali Zvornik also received aid.
Talking about deployment of the Armed Forces of Serbia in these municipalities, Minister of Defence stressed that 22 engineering machineries have been deployed in the Municipality of Krupanj, and that there are 11 vehicles on the field in Mali Zvornik.
– The Armed Forces of Serbia will place all its capacities at disposal of its people, but let the results be seen, as well – Minister Gasic stated, reminding of the promise of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic that construction of house will begin soon and that all houses on Serbia’s territory will be finished until October 1.
On this occasion, Minister of Defence also called for patience, since it is not possible to reach every single house due to the scope of the catastrophe. However, their engagement is at the maximum level.
After talks with the residents of Krzava who informed him about their everyday problems after the devastating floods, particularly the youngest ones who couldn’t reach their schools, Minister Gasic organized for 35 schoolchildren from Krupanj and five from Macvanski Prnjavor to go on a 7-day vacation at the Armed Forces Vacation Club at Tara until the end of their school break.
