Participation in Balkan Countries CHODs Conference

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović has participated in the 16th Balkan Countries CHODs Conference held in Sophia, the capital of Bulgaria, today.
This year’s Conference topic was “Regional military connectivity and military mobility as a highlight of the partnership in the Balkans — exploring innovative ways for integration and cooperation”, and the Balkan countries’ CHODs were in a position to exchange their experience and views on other topics as well relevant to further development of regional defense cooperation.
In his address, General Mojsilović confirmed the Serbian Armed Forces’ commitment to developing further this regional initiative, primarily by improving military cooperation and strengthening confidence among the member states’ armed forces, which is especially important in the context of the current security situation in the world.
During his stay in Sophia, the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff had separate bilateral meetings with Admiral Emil Eftimov, Chief of the Defence Staff, Bulgarian Armed Forces, and General Rober Brieger, Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, with whom he discussed the achievements of the military cooperation and options for its further enhancement.
The Balkan Countries CHODs Forum provides an opportunity for chiefs of general staff of the armed forces of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Romania, North Macedonia, Türkiye, and Montenegro to get together, for the purpose of strengthening the Balkan countries' military cooperation and ways to respond to modern security challenges, risks and threats. There were also high EU and NATO representatives who took part in this year’s Conference as visitors, as well as CHODs of the Croatian and Slovenian Armed Forces.
