Meeting with Chief of NATO Military Liaison Office

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović has received today Chief of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade Brigadier General Giampiero Romano.

The discussion at the meeting covered the current regional security situation, activities by the NATO MLO and overall relations between the Serbian Armed Forces and NATO, a special reference being made to the cooperation with KFOR.

With the assessment that the partner and professional relations with NATO contribute to building peace and stability in the region, General Mojsilović has pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces are committed to continuing the cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, adding that the cooperation mechanisms established under the Partnership for Peace Program make that possible.

Speaking of the state of security in Kosovo and Metohija, Chief of the General Staff has stressed that the presence of the mission of international forces plays a critical part in protecting Serbian national,cultural, historical and religious heritage in the Province, expressing his belief that KFOR, as the only legitimate security actor in Kosovo and Metohija, will act impartially and professionally and in line with UNSC Resolution 1244 in all situations.
