Intensive Training in 72nd Special Operations Brigade

As part of routine winter training, members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade are undergoing diverse tactical and firearms training contents, both in the area where the unit is based and outside its peacetime location.

Today, one of the training segments at the ”Rastko Nemanjić” Barracks in Pančevo has been attended by Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, who, accompanied by Brigade Commander Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan, had a direct insight into the ability of the unit members to accomplish intended tasks.

Today, in accordance with the training curriculum, combat teams have practiced counter-sabotage and urban combat, as well as counter-terrorist actions and raids, perfecting climbing techniques and executing live firing from different types of weapons.

Professional soldiers, admitted to the unit under Project 5000 in early August, are also actively participating in the training activity, their training results confirming their readiness and motivation to make great psychophysical effort and meet high training standards required for special force’ members.

Basic and advanced training of special forces, carried out in the 72nd Special Operations Brigade throughout the year, provide the soldiers’ and officers’ with outstanding skills in fulfilling the tasks in all tactical and weather conditions and all kinds of terrain, and, consequently, high combat readiness of this elite SAF unit.
