Visit by Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, has spoken with Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff General Dimitrios Choupis in Belgrade today.
The discussion at the meeting covered the most important aspects of bilateral military cooperation and possibilities for its further improvement, with reference to the security situation in the region and the world and its implications for equipping and developing the capabilities of the armed forces.
The conversation confirmed the determination of both sides to develop and improve further the military-to-military cooperation, which follows the traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Greece, based on mutual trust, understanding and respect for deep historical, cultural and spiritual ties.
It has been assessed that the joint activities so far were very successful and fully in support of building the capabilities and interoperability of units and preserving regional peace and stability. Training, joint training and exchange of experience of the air force and special force units were singled out as the areas of mutual interest.
Today, General Choupis has been received by Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić, and, during the rest of the visit, the Greek delegation will have the opportunity to visit the cultural and historical sights of the Serbian capital.
The visit by Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, who is in the Republic of Serbia at the invitation of General Mojsilović, is an important bilateral military cooperation activity. Such high-level meetings contribute to mutual understanding and trust and give impetus to the improvement of joint cooperation in the field of defense.
