Visit by Chief of Joint Staff of Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina

At the invitation of Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina Major General Gojko Knežević is paying a three-day visit to our country.

Today, following the meeting with Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, General Knežević has visited the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and discussed with General Mojsilović the current security situation in the region and the world, defence cooperation so far and possibilities of its further improvement.

During the talks, it has been established that the two armed forces enjoy a successful cooperation within the Balkan Countries Chiefs of Defence Forum, aiming to strengthen the regional countries’ military-to-military cooperation, as well as in the field of training for participation in multinational operations. In this context, a good long-standing cooperation between the Peacekeeping Operations Centre of the Serbian Armed Forces and Peace Support Operations Training Centre of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been emphasized.

Tomorrow, General Knežević will visit the Military Academy and Peacekeeping Operations Centre in Belgrade, where he will be shown the facilities and presented with the scope of work of these organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.

The visit by the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been an opportunity to point out and confirm once again the commitment of the Republic of Serbia to strengthening the defence cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina, contributing to the improvement of good neighborly relations and security situation in this area.
