Joint Exercise of Special Forces of Serbia and Greece

At the “Šumatovac”shooting range near Aleksinac, an attractive combined tactical level exercise was held where members of the Special Forces of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Greece demonstrated superior combat capabilities and readiness to efficiently perform tasks of counter-insurgency using special landing.

Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, Major General IlijaTodorov, Commandant of the Special Brigade, Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan, Head of the Joint Special Operations Command of the Hellenic Army, Major General Georgios Cicikostas, Military Attaché of Greece in Serbia, Navy Captain CharalamposGavalas and other guests attended the exercises.

Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan emphasized the excellent and synchronized work of the participants in the field exercise, while Major General Georgios Cicikostas underlined the importance of the exercisein improving training and excellent organization of the overall joint training of Serbian and Greek Special Forces.

At the exercise, it was possible to see a number of segments, united as a whole, like a parachute jump, a blockade of areas, a helicopter landing with the use of ropes, anti-insurgent and urban fighting. The exercise is designed to develop and improve combat capability and increase the interoperability of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Greece and Serbia.
