Banat Brigade

The Banat brigade is intended to provide the initial conditions for the mobilization, growth, training and reaching the operational capabilities of this territorial brigade according to the war formation.

It is located in Zrenjanin, in the barracks "National Hero Svetozar Marković Toza".

Banat Brigade comprises HQ, HQ Company and Logistic Company.

Lieutenant Colonel Nikola Fatić is the Commander of the Banat Brigade.

Tasks of the Banat Brigade

Banat Brigade is tasked with:

Preparation for mobilizationоn of the Brigade,
Garrison affairs,
Protection of the facilities, movable goods and personnel for which Brigade is responsible, and
Logistic support.

Traditions of the Banat Brigade

As a result of the reorganization of the Army Command in 2007, 2nd Training Centre was formed and became subordinate to Training Command. The base for the establishment of the Centre was the reorganized 506th Infantry Brigade from Zrenjanin and disbanded 413th Drivers Training Centre in Vršac.

The Centre was established from the personnel from the following units: Land Forces, Operational Forces, Novi Sad Corps and Land Forces Military Academy. 2nd Training Centre was in charge of garrison affairs in Pančevo until it was organized into Banat Brigade Development Command.

Through reorganization of 2nd Training Centre Command for Development of the Banat Brigade was established on August 17, 2011 in Pančevo. The unit celebrates its day on November 17 in memory of the day when, in 1918, Zrenjanin was liberated from the Austro-Hungarian occupation in the First World War.

After the renaming, the Command for Development of the Banat Brigade has been officially named the Banat Brigade since January 1, 2022.
