Arranging Bed of River Toplica in Municipality of Kuršumlija

This week, in cooperation with the local government in Kuršumlija, members of the Army's engineering units began works on the arrangement of the bed of the River Toplica.
The activity is implemented through engineering training of members of the Serbian Armed Forces as part of the civil-military cooperation project, with the aim of increasing throughput power of the waterbeds for water, ice and sediment and thereby creating conditions for protection from torrential floods.
This way, in addition to providing assistance to the population of this region, the ability to operate engineering machines, which are used in the Serbian Armed Forces for arranging roads, overcoming obstacles, obstruction and camouflage is also improved.
The engineering task force of the Army in cleaning the riverbed from grown vegetation, deposits of soil and other deposited material using modern machinery with which units of the Serbian Armed Forces have been equipped during past years, and together with them, employees of the Public Utility Company "Toplica" are also engaged in arranging the river bed.
The Serbian Armed Forces have repeatedly engaged forces and resources for mitigating the consequences of floods in this part of the country, and now, with the implementation of works on arrangement of riverbeds, it also acts preventively. Implementation of activities and civil-military cooperation projects of the Serbian Armed Forces will continue in the future, all with the aim of further strengthening mutual trust and creating conditions for a better life of all citizens of Serbia.
