Infantry Company Preparing for UNIFIL

Thursday, 28.4.2022 | Training
An infantry company of the 3rd Army Brigade is undergoing collective training at "Borovac" Training Ground and "South" Base to be deployed with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

This training is part of months-long preparations made by the unit’s members so as to be fully ready for completing their tasks when deployed on a mission.

At this point, the infantry company is being engaged in the conditions similar to those in Lebanon, and the scenarios it follows correspond to situations it could come across while completing its tasks in an area of operations. The focus is on practicing tactical actions and procedures for executing collective tasks such as securing convoys, control of mass gatherings, setting up check-points, control of the territory, decontamination of manpower and equipment and CASEVAC.

During final preparations, in the following month, an exercise will be conducted to check the unit’s abilities to participate in this mission.

A SAF infantry company started its deployment with UNIFIL in 2013, performing its tasks as part of the Spanish Battalion within the Sector East Multinational Brigade.
