Celebrating Telecommunication Service Day and Signal Brigade Day

The Telecommunication Service Day and the Signal Brigade Day have been celebrated today in the IT and Telecommunications Department and the Signal Brigade.
Members of the Signal Brigade have celebrated their holiday at the “Banjica” barracks with a parade and display of IT and telecommunication equipment.
In his remarks, Commander, Signal Brigade Colonel Zoran Dragićević commented on the history of the telecommunications service and highlighted the results achieved by the unit in the period between the two holidays.
The ceremony was also held at the IT and Telecommunications Department of the General Staff, where awards for the achieved results were given to exemplary members of the telecommunication service.
Today’s holidays are celebrated on September 20 to commemorate the day in 1916 when the Military Telegraph Decree was adopted, which laid down the basics of organizing signals branch in Serbian military. Today, the tradition of the signals branch continues the telecommunication service.
