Training of Instructors in Climbing and for Mountain Rescue Service

In the organization of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, a course on climbing and mountain rescue service in summer conditions attended by members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia was held in the previous two months.

This training has been conducted for the purpose of practical and methodical training of participants for individual training in climbing and performance of search and rescue tasks in mountainous and rough terrain.

In addition to theoretical classes, in accordance with programme, participants had various forms of practical training, from mastering techniques and tactics of movement on rough terrain, climbing mountains, rescue and evacuation of the endangered and injured to the organization of safe life and work in difficult conditions. During the training, modern climbing, mountaineering and rescue equipment of the special units of the Serbian Armed Forces has been used, and the Air Force and Air Defence helicopters have been engaged, as well.

With the successful conduct of this course, the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior have gained certified and competent training instructors for the execution of complex and high-risk tasks in search and rescue service.
