This week, an international biological weapons and toxicology course has been held at the CBRN Training Centre of the Serbian Armed Forces in Kruševac.

The course has been attended by members of the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Egypt, Italy, Hungary, the United States of America, Slovenia and Spain.

In our centre, they expanded their knowledge of biological weapons and toxicology and practiced the use of military equipment for the protection against the effects of biological weapons, biological detection and identification, and biological decontamination.

For the purposes of the course, an improvised laboratory was established so that the participants could practice responding to acts of biological terrorism.

The training course was delivered by instructors from the CBRN Training Centre and toxicology experts from the Military Medical Academy and “Vinča” Institute of Nuclear Sciences.

The goals of the course were fully accomplished, and the implementation of such and similar international training activities in our Centre speaks of the quality of instructors and training system in the Serbian Armed Forces, contributing also to the improvement of cooperation with the partner countries’ armed forces.
