International Course in Biological Weapons and Toxicology

This week, the CBRN Centre in Kruševac organized an international course in biological weapons and toxicology, which was attended not only by members of the Serbian Armed Forces, but also by members of the armed forces from four other countries.

During the five-day course, participants from the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Cyprus, Hungary and Serbia acquired new knowledge about biological weapons and toxicology and were trained to implement measures to protect against the effects of this type of weapon.

The focus of the training was on getting acquainted with the characteristics of bacteria, viruses and toxins, the effects they have on living organisms and on the practical application of protective means and means for the detecting biological agents and decontamination of people and equipment.

In addition to certified instructors from the CBRN Centre, the training on the course was conducted by toxicology experts from the Military Medical Academy and guest lecturers from the Covid Hospital from Kruševac and the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences.

Conducting this international course contributes to the status of the CBRN Centre as a regional and partner center for education and training and to the strengthening of military cooperation with the countries from the region.
