Assistance of Serbian Armed Forces in Eliminating Consequences of Floods in Slovenia

Based on the decision of the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been sent to the Republic of Slovenia to participate in a humanitarian operation to prevent, eliminate, mitigate and repair the consequences of the catastrophic floods that hit that country.

More than 50 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and two helicopters with equipment for medical evacuation and transport, four water tankers, four fuel tankers and disinfection devices will be involved in providing assistance to the citizens of Slovenia.

In accordance with the requirements of Slovenian authorities, the contingent of the Serbian Armed Forces will be engaged in the tasks of air transport, supplying the population with water and fuel, biological disinfection of facilities and land in threatened areas, as well as performing engineering works to clear communications from deposited material.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces will remain in Slovenia as long as the situation on the ground requires so.

At the Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica, today, Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević has attended the send-off of part of the Serbian Armed Forces to be transported by air.
