Members of the Serbian Armed Forces’ air defence artillery-missile units are conducting intensive training and live firing against ground and aerial targets from the newly introduced and modernized short-range air defence systems at the “Pasuljanske Livade” Training Ground.

The general goal is to train individuals, combat crews and instructors for the handling and basic maintenance of, execution of firing from and implementation of training with modern systems that will contribute to a more efficient anti-aircraft warfare.

The training activity involves the “Pasars”, “Pasars S-2M” and “NTV-CU” systems with “Šilo” missiles, keeping the focus on practicing the tracking of aerial targets, as well as the actions and procedures before, during, and after the shooting. Experts from the Military Technical Institute are also participating in the implementation of training.

By modernizing the systems, the possibilities of detecting aerial targets have been improved, as well as directing the fire of AD artillery-missile units, undertaking actions at night and in complex meteorological conditions, as well as the effect of missiles on the target.

All this, including excellent training of individuals and combat crews, which is now given priority, will improve the protection of the Serbian Armed Forces against aerial threats, and thus the ability to conduct offensive and defensive operations in all weather and tactical conditions.

Today’s training and live firing activities were attended by Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević and his associates.
