Military ceremonies have been held today to mark the Aviation Day at “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” Airfield in Batajnica and “Morava” Airfield in Lađevci.
The results achieved in the year behind us have been summarized in front of a ceremonial parade of the air force brigades’ members and awards handed to the most distinguished individuals and units, followed by the laying of wreaths and flowers at the memorial honoring the fallen Air Force members.
The central ceremony at the military airfield in Batajnica has been attended by Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Lieutenant General Duško Žarković.
The Aviation Day — 02 August commemorates the day when an order was issued to establish the air force sections in the division-level units of the Serbian Army in 1893.
