A military ceremony has been held at the “Banjica” Barracks in Belgrade today to mark the Day of the ASW Service and Day of the 126th ASEWG Brigade.

On the occasion of the holiday, the working results of the year behind us were summarized, awards were presented to the most successful individuals and wreaths were laid at the memorial in the Barracks, which is a way for this unit to preserve the memory of those killed in 1999 NATO aggression.

Looking back on the achieved results, it has been pointed out that the 126th ASEWG Brigade successfully implemented all assigned tasks and made significant progress in airspace control capabilities, making a huge contribution to the development of Air Force and Air Defense’s overall capabilities.

Today's ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defense Commander, Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, representatives of SAF units, Serbian Orthodox Church, local government bodies and institutions the Brigade cooperates with.

Day of the ASW Service and Day of the 126th ASEWG Brigade are marked on 18 June in memory of the day in 1915 when the Serbian Supreme Command issued an order to establish permanent observation signal stations to indicate the flight direction of enemy planes, laying the foundations for the modern ASW Service.
