Futsal team of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces on the 6th CISM Futsal Cup

The futsal team of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia will take part at the 6th CISM FUTSAL CUP FOR PEACE which will be held in Sarajevo on September 21-26. 6 teams of the former Yugoslavian countries will participate at the tournament.

Our team will play at the first stage of the competition, in Group 2, which includes teams of the armed forces of Macedonia and Montenegro. Our team will play the group stage matches on September 23, against Macedonia, and the deciding match will follow at noon against Montenegro.

Teams of the armed forces of Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia are in Group 1.

The two semi-final matches will take place on September 24, where two best teams from Group 1 and Group 2 will meet. Winners of the semi=final matches will compete for the first place, while the defeated will play for the third place.

This year’s tournament ends the first round of tournament organization which includes all 6 former Yugoslavian countries. The initiative for organizing such tournaments was taken by the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia at the International Council for Military Sports (CISM). The initiative was supported by the CISM and FIFA. The project of organizing the tournaments was nominated in 2009 for an award from the Sports and Peace program under the auspices of Prince Albert II of Monaco. The host of the first tournament organized in 2009. was the republic of Serbia.
