In the organization of the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Department (J-9) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, tactical training of CIMIC bodies was conducted in the "South" base and the "Borovac" training ground.

During the two-week training, the participants were trained to perform tasks within the work scope of CIMIC units and to carry out CIMIC activities in peacekeeping operations.

In an academic part of the training, officers and NCOs learned about CIMIC basics in our country and worldwide, competencies of international governmental and non-governmental organizations that provide assistance to the endangered population and the experiences that the Serbian Armed Forces CIMIC officers gained in peacekeeping operations.

The participants improved their special skills at the "Borovac" training ground, where they practically solved numerous tactical suppositions by following the prescribed procedures, in cooperation with the Red Cross of Serbia and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and had the opportunity to see the specific work of these organizations, the importance of knowing and respecting cultural differences and the effects of conducting conversations in specific situations.

The Serbian Armed Forces’ members who completed the course, have been trained to perform tasks in the CIMIC field, and will apply the acquired knowledge while performing the duties of CIMIC bodies in the Serbian Armed Forces and during their engagement in peacekeeping operations.
