Success of Members of the MoD and the SAF at the Judo Championship

The team of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces won 18 medals – four gold medals, six silver and eight bronze medals at the 1st Serbian Individual Judo Championship for Military and Police Personnel, in the senior competition.

The team of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces won 18 medals – four gold medals, six silver and eight bronze medals at the 1st Serbian Individual Judo Championship for Military and Police Personnel, in the senior competition, which was held at the Basic Police Training Centre in Sremska Kamenica.
 
Under the leadership of Captain Filip Stošić, the team of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces participated with 23 members – 18 in the men's competition and five in the women's competition, that is, 6 members of the Ministry of Defence and 17 members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
Captain Stevan Stojanović (in the category up to 81 kg), Private 1st Class Nikolaos Smilis (-66 kg), Cadet Milan Ristić (-90 kg) and Corporal Marija Prtora (-63 kg) won the first place.
 
Captain Marko Papović (-90 kg), Second Lieutenant Nikolina Popović (-57 kg), Private 1st Class Milica Cikuša (-70 kg), Cadet Vesna Rakić (-78 kg), Dušan Jakovljević (-66 kg) and Private Vlada Stanković (-81 kg) won the second place.
 
Third place was won by Major Milan Žunić (-90 kg), Captain Dragan Đekić (+100 kg), Second Lieutenant Aleksandar Stanković (-73 kg), Cadet Nikola Stevanović (-66 kg), Private Aleksandar Pujin (-81 kg), Sergeant First Class Miloš Simonović (-81 kg), Cadet Nenad Janković (-100 kg), and Sergeant Marina Mignaver (-63 kg).
 
The championship was organised by the Serbian Judo Association.
