On New Year’s Eve, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces visited on-duty fighter aviation unit at the “Colonel Pilot Milenko Pavlović” airport in Batajnica.

After the display of the alerting process and preparations of the on-duty fighter couple for take-off, Minister Stefanović said that those were the people who worked regardless of whether it was the New Year’s Eve, day or night, and regardless of weather conditions.

— The on-duty fighter couple that is watching over our sky and freedom, these pilots who you have just seen get on the runway in the shortest possible time, take off and prepare for their tasks, know no fear or any other obstacles. These are the people whose lives are dedicated to our homeland, to the protection of our sky and our freedom — Minister Stefanović said.

The Minister of Defence said that the strength of our armed forces were their people — pilots, tankers, infantry and all those who worked day and night and fought for our country to be stable, safe and a guarantor of the stability of the entire region.

— The strength of the armed forces are their people, and our armed forces are Serbia’s strength. I wish these guys and all other members of the defence system a happy New Year, and I hope that they will always be as dedicated and brave as they are today — said Minister Stefanović.
