Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces: We will continue equipping the military

The Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, together with the Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, observed today the River Flotilla units’ training and visited the Army tactical-technical weapons and military equipment display at the temporary range "Mačvanski Partizanski Odred" in Šabac.

Within the training of the River Flotilla on the topic "Tactical group in waterway defence", segments related to the control of inland waterways were presented, as well as enemy and coastal reconnaissance, transport by ferry and amphibious transporter, mine search and medical evacuation.

More than 60 state-of-the-art weapons and military equipment were presented at the tactical-technical display, with which the units of the Army are equipped, as well as the means of the Military Technical Institute that are being developed and planned for further equipping.

After the visit, President Vučić congratulated today's holiday, the Day of the Army — November 16, and wished the members of this service of the Serbian Armed Forces success in the future, telling Minister Stefanović, Chief of the General Staff, General Mojsilović and Commander of the Army, General Simović to convey his greetings to all soldiers, as well as the fact that the citizens of Serbia were proud of the great, important and responsible work they do.

The Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces expressed hope that all members of the Army have better equipment and better weapons and many more years and decades of peace.

— I would also like to congratulate you on the exercise you have conducted today in very complex conditions on the Sava River in Šabac. It was cold and windy on the Sava, and you can imagine what it was like for the divers who were in the water at this temperature, in this weather, but I think they did exceptionally well — President Vučić said.

According to the words of the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, much more needs to be done on additional equipping and modernization of the River Flotilla, but not only on sonars and introduction of drones, but also on additional digitalization of equipment, purchase of new boats, primarily low-draft.

— Not only do we have ships and boats for the Sava and the Danube, but also for the Morava, Tisa and Drina. These are things we will have to do in the next period, but a lot is coming for the Army by the end of the year, and I believe that Generals Simović and Mojsilović, Minister Stefanović and Assistant Minister Miloradović will be satisfied with what the country has done — President Vučić pointed out.

In recent years, President Vučić reminded, more had been invested than ever in our military, in armament, equipment and modernization, which, as he added, was not easy.

— I just want to say one thing — the more you see and the more you do, the more flaws you see and the more you seek to correct them as soon as possible. In any case, what is our greatest strength, with all the modernization and everything we do, are the people, the soldiers, officers, non-commissioned officers, those who train every day, practice, so that, God forbid, if needed, they are in able to protect and preserve our country — emphasized the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić.
