Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Petar Cvetković, began participating in a two-day high-level military doctrine seminar organized by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Forum for Security Cooperation.

The seminar, which is being held via video conference, is attended by high-ranking political and military representatives of OSCE member states.

During the first day, the current security situation in the OSCE area was discussed, with an assessment of operational trends, the role of combat armed forces in deterring armed conflict, the re-emergence of long-term strategic competition among states, and its impact on military doctrines.

The topic of the second day of the seminar is how states adjust their doctrines on cooperation in the light of the current security situation, as well as the need for military support to civilian authorities during crisis response, with special emphasis on the impact of the CoOVID-19 pandemic on doctrine formation and development.

The participation of the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces in the seminar is another confirmation of the support of the Republic of Serbia to the work of a regional security initiative such as the Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE), but also commitment to preserving peace and stability in Europe and globally.
