Ceremonial Opening of International Military Games and Military-Technical Forum “Army 2020”

The "International Military Games 2020", one of the largest military sports competitions in the world, and the prestigious arms and military equipment fair "Army 2020" opened today in the Patriot Park near Moscow in the Russian Federation.

The ceremony, which was opened by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, was attended by Serbian Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Milan Mojsilović and a delegation, senior Russian government officials led by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Army General Valery Gerasimov and more than 90 foreign delegations.

During the visit, which is realized at the invitation of the Russian side, the SAF Chief of General Staff met with our soldiers participating in the competition and visited the exhibition of the International Military-Technical Forum "Army 2020". He also attended the first individual race in the discipline "Tank Biathlon" in which one of the SAF tank crews also performed.

In a conversation with our soldiers, General Mojsilović expressed hope that hard and dedicated work during the preparations in Serbia and the Russian Federation will succeed in translating into good results despite fierce competition.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces will participate in three events: “Tank Biathlon” and “Military Rally” held in the Russian Federation, and in “Sniper Frontier” held in Belarus.

The four best teams of Serbian tankers will participate in the "Tank Biathlon" discipline at the "Alabino" training ground - three competitive and one reserve, ie 23 SAF members. Members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been participating in the most attractive discipline of the "International Military Games" since 2014, and they achieved the best result in 2015 when they won third place.

The team of the SAF military drivers, which has 13 members, will compete in the discipline "Military Rally" in the Republic of Tuva in the far east of the Russian Federation. In their first appearance, they won third place.

Our soldiers are participating in the "Sniper Border" discipline for the third time. This year as well, our team consists of nine soldiers will compete in individual shooting and within sniper pairs.
