Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Talks to US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence

The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, talked via video-link to the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, Laura Cooper.

During their talk, they discussed bilateral military cooperation with the focus on the execution of joint exercises, then the possible procurement of modern materiel for the Serbian Armed Forces from the United States and cooperation in the field of training and equipping units for participation in peacekeeping operations.

Assessing the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the US Armed Forces including so far mainly the conduct of joint activities in the field of training and exercises as very successful and diverse, it was concluded that the priority should be given to specific forms of cooperation, which have a clearly visible contribution to the improvement of operational capabilities. In that sense, the importance of the upcoming joint exercise of parachute units, which will be conducted this year in the Republic of Serbia, was particularly emphasized.
