International CIMIC Course

"Unit for Civil-Military Cooperation" international course, organized by the CIMIC Department (J-9) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, started today in the barracks "Car Lazar" in Kruševac.

The aim of the course is to improve knowledge about the activities of civil society organizations in the areas of multinational operations under the auspices of the United Nations and the European Union and practical training of participants to work in the field.

Participants in the course are officers and non-commissioned officers from the Serbian Armed Forces, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Hungary, who deal with civil-military cooperation at the tactical level, as well as representatives of civilian institutions of the Republic of Serbia. During the two-week training in study rooms and at the "Ravnjak" range, they will be trained to work in various positions in teams and units of civil-military cooperation during deployment in multinational operations.

Practical and theoretical training will be conducted by instructors from the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, the Armed Forces of the Netherlands, USA and Italy, and guest lecturers from the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and the Red Cross of the Republic of Serbia.
