International Course on Ionizing Radiation

A course entitled "Detection, Dosimetry and Protection from Ionizing Radiation" is conducted at the CBRN Training Centre, Kruševac, this week. It is attended not only by SAF members, but also by members of the armed forces of eight other countries. 

This five-day advancement program aims to train the participants for working in the conditions of exposure to ionizing radiation. In their study rooms and during practical exercises, they will be practicing how to use detection and dosimetry assets, techniques for measuring and identifying the sources of ionizing radiation, how to assess the effects of radiation on biological systems and take basic protective measures.

At this international course, the training is delivered by certified instructors from the CBRN Training Centre and visiting lecturers from the "Vinča" Institute of Nuclear Science, Academy of Professional Studies "Šumadija" and Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate.  

Conduct of this and similar international courses, as well as the partner countries armed forces' large interest in our Centre’s advancement program, are best confirmation of the competence of instructors and quality of training in the Serbian Armed Forces in the CBRN domain.
