General Staff Talks Between Serbian Armed Forces and Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

This week, a high delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces is on an official visit to the Russian Federation to hold General Staff talks.

The host of the meeting is the Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the Russian Federation Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Viktor Viktorovich Poznihir, and our delegation is led by the Chief of the Operations Directorate (J-3) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Major General Želimir Glišović.

During the talks of the delegations at the headquarters of the Russian General Staff in Moscow, the current bilateral military cooperation, the political and security situation in the region and the world were analyzed, and the modalities for improving military-military cooperation with a focus on joint exercises and training were defined.

General Staff talks between representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were established in 2014 and have been held annually since then, alternately in Serbia and Russia. This is the first time that talks have been held at the level of Operations Directorates of the General Staffs, which gives a new quality to the process of planning military-military cooperation.

During their stay in the Russian Federation, the delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces will also visit the "Patriot" Congress and Exhibition Centrе, the Central Museum and the Main Temple of the Russian Federation Armed Forces.
