Talks on Improving Bilateral Cooperation With the United States

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, talked in Belgrade today with the acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense of the United States of America for the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Eurasia, Nate Adler.

Current political and security situation in the region and the world were discussed at the meeting, as well as the key challenges and security threats in Kosovo and Metohija and opportunities for improving bilateral military cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the United States.

During the talks, readiness for the continuation of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest was expressed, mainly through conducting joint training and exercises and equipping the Serbian Armed Forces with modern weapons and equipment.

Assessing that bilateral military cooperation was very successful and contributed to strengthening the overall bilateral relations between Serbia and the United States, it was concluded that there was room for its further improvement, primarily through specific forms of cooperation that have a clearly visible impact on the development of the armed forces’ operational capabilities.
