A New Rotation of Force Protection Platoon Sent-Off to the Mission in Lebanon

Yesterday the force protection platoon of the Training Command was sent off to the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon (UNIFIL) from the "Constantine the Great" аirport in Niš.

In the following six months, within the Italian contingent, the force protection platoon will carry out the tasks of securing the United Nations base in Sector West. In Lebanon they will take over the duty from the previous platoon rotation, which has successfully completed all assigned tasks in accordance with the mission’s mandate. 

The Serbian Armed Forces have been participating in the UNIFIL since 2010. In addition to the force protection platoon, in this mission the Serbian Armed Forces engage staff officers, members of the national support element and an infantry company, which performs tasks within the Spanish battalion in the multinational brigade of Sector East.
